But Let’s Be Serious,How Can We Continue Selling Food Close To Gutters,Waste And Busy Roads—Bongo

According to a Post on Bongo Ideas official facebook account on Tuesday, October 20,2026,Ghanaian social commentator Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has welcomed the ongoing transformation of the Kasoa Market, arguing that improved sanitation and proper urban planning are essential to the development of the fast-growing town.

In a Facebook post, Bongo Ideas revisited the condition of the market before its demolition, acknowledging that some market women had protested the exercise, accusing the government of destroying their businesses and livelihoods.

However, the commentator questioned the practice of selling food close to open gutters, waste and busy roads, insisting that such conditions should not be allowed to persist in a developing urban centre.

He argued that efforts to reorganise the market and improve sanitation were necessary to create a cleaner and more orderly trading environment.

Bongo Ideas also expressed optimism about the market’s changing appearance, describing the emerging transformation as a development he believes residents should welcome.

“Now look at how beautiful, clean and attractive the place is becoming. This is the Kasoa we want to see!” he wrote.

The social commentator further commended Phillis Naa Koryoo, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, for what he described as her support for development in Kasoa.

According to him, the town’s rapid growth makes proper planning, improved sanitation and effective management of public spaces increasingly important.

He maintained that residents could not demand modern infrastructure and improved living conditions while continuing to defend practices he believes undermine those objectives.

“We cannot demand development and still defend the very conditions holding us back,” he stated.
