Share on Twitter Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante insists Coventry City will continue to fight for victories in every match despite their 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Monday night.
The 27-year-old played a key role in Coventry’s response after setting up Jack Rudoni’s equaliser four minutes into the second half, cancelling out James Maddison’s opener for Spurs.
However, Tottenham eventually secured all three points after scoring twice later in the game, with Ghana international Mohammed Kudus also contributing an assist for Maddison’s first-half goal.
Both Kudus and Thomas-Asante now have two assists each in the 2026/27 Premier League season, although Kudus had the added reward of helping Spurs claim victory.
Despite the disappointing result, Thomas-Asante says Coventry’s mentality remains unchanged as they look to improve their position on the league table.
“We wanted to win today, and we go into every game wanting to win. So nothing changes in that regard,” he said.
Coventry have managed two wins from their opening seven matches since returning to the English top flight and currently occupy 17th position, just one point above the relegation zone.
The Ghana forward believes the team has enough quality to turn their fortunes around and move higher up the standings as the season progresses.
“But we back ourselves, and we want to climb up the table. So it’s just a start,” he added.
Thomas-Asante will now look to build on his positive contribution against Tottenham as Coventry aim to convert their performances into more points in their Premier League campaign.
