BEDC Strike: Power shutdown threatens economic activities

BENIN CITY: Electricity supply disruptions triggered by the industrial action of workers of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) are raising concerns over the economic cost of unreliable power, with businesses, manufacturers and other electricity-dependent enterprises facing potential losses.The shutdown of BEDC facilities by members of the Nigerian Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) on Monday disrupted electricity supply across Edo, Delta, Ondo and Ekiti states, Vanguard reports.
