Barcelona Forced to Wear Last Season’s Orange Kit for Champions League Clash vs PSG

According to a report by Barca Universal on Tuesday October 20, 2026, Barcelona will wear last season’s orange kit for their UEFA Champions League meeting with Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes after UEFA rejected all three of their current-season kits for the fixture.

The decision reportedly follows television broadcast requirements aimed at ensuring a clear visual distinction between both teams during Tuesday’s highly anticipated encounter.

According to Tot Costa, as reported by SPORT, Barcelona have been forced to bring back their previous campaign’s orange strip because none of their available alternatives received approval for the match.

The club’s traditional blue and red home shirt has been ruled out alongside their black and purple away kit dedicated to Kobe Bryant. Their third kit, featuring two shades of electric blue, has also been rejected.

Barcelona’s training session on Monday had suggested that they could wear their blue alternative against PSG. However, the final decision has forced Hansi Flick’s team to reconsider their plans for the European showdown.

The orange shirt has already featured in Barcelona’s promotional material ahead of the match. Lamine Yamal, Pedri and Anthony Gordon were pictured wearing the strip as the club prepared for the encounter.

The kit belongs to Nike’s Total 90 collection, which draws inspiration from football fashion during the early 2000s. Barcelona previously wore the shirt during pre-season, including in a friendly against Basel.

However, its return for a competitive Champions League fixture represents an unusual situation for the Catalan giants. The club has three kits available this season but cannot use any of them for their meeting with the French champions.

The colour combinations of both teams’ kits and UEFA’s broadcasting requirements have reportedly left Barcelona with no approved option from their current collection.

Consequently, Flick’s side will rely on last season’s orange strip when they face PSG at the Parc des Princes. Barcelona will also be looking to extend their impressive winning start to the campaign to 12 consecutive matches with a positive result against the reigning European heavyweights.
