Arsenal £70M Signing Faces Battle to Save His Career Amid Growing Frustration

Eberechi Eze is reportedly facing an uncertain future at Arsenal as frustration grows over his limited playing time under manager Mikel Arteta.

According to a report by TEAMtalk on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, the £70 million signing has struggled to secure a regular starting place since joining the Gunners, raising concerns about his position in the team.

Arsenal brought Eze in to add creativity and attacking quality to their squad. His close control, ability to carry the ball and confidence in possession made him an important addition, but competition for places has limited his chances to establish himself.

The report states that the England international is currently viewed as a temporary option on the left wing, with Christos Tzolis reportedly ahead of him in the pecking order.

Eze also faces competition from Martin Ødegaard for the attacking midfield position. Ødegaard remains an important part of Arsenal’s attacking system, making it difficult for Eze to secure the number 10 role.

With limited opportunities, the midfielder faces pressure to convince Arteta that he can make a difference in the final third and offer the team something different in attack.

His situation has reportedly become more concerning following his performance against Nottingham Forest. Eze was substituted at half-time after a disappointing display, raising further questions about his ability to meet the manager’s expectations.

However, the midfielder still has an opportunity to improve his performances and fight for a more regular role. Consistent playing time would also help him build confidence and adjust to Arsenal’s tactical demands.

Arteta must also consider how to get the best out of Eze’s abilities. His skill in carrying the ball, creating chances and playing in different attacking positions could give Arsenal another option if he finds a suitable role in the team.

Arsenal face strong competition within their squad, and Eze will need to make the most of his chances to improve his standing.

For now, his long-term future at the club remains uncertain. His ability to regain Arteta’s trust and earn more playing time could determine how his Arsenal career develops.
