After AFC Leopards Won 2-1, Here Is How KPL Table Stands
Gor Mahia remain top of the Kenya Premier League standings after the latest round of matches, while AFC Leopards strengthened their position with a 2-1 victory over Kenya Police FC.
The result dealt a blow to Police FC, who are still searching for consistency after two matches in the opening stages of the campaign. The law enforcers have collected just one point from their opening two games, leaving them 13th in the standings with a goal difference of minus one.
AFC Leopards moved into fourth place with four points from two matches. Ingwe have recorded one win and one draw, scoring two goals and conceding one to maintain an unbeaten start to the season.
Gor Mahia continue to set the pace after collecting six points from their opening two fixtures. The record Kenyan champions have scored five goals and conceded two, giving them a goal difference of plus three.
Mara Sugar, KCB, AFC Leopards, Kakamega Homeboyz and Shabana are all tied on four points, making the battle for the top positions increasingly competitive.
Mara Sugar occupy second place, followed by KCB in third. AFC Leopards are fourth, while Kakamega Homeboyz and Shabana occupy fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
Murang’a are seventh with three points after scoring seven goals and conceding five in their opening two matches. Tusker are eighth with three points but have played only one game.
At the bottom, Mombasa United and Posta Rangers remain without a point after losing their opening two matches. Mombasa United are 17th, while Posta Rangers occupy 18th place with a goal difference of minus five.
Police FC, currently 13th, will need to recover quickly to avoid slipping further down the standings. Their defeat to Leopards leaves them with one point from two matches.
With the season still in its early stages, the standings could change significantly in the coming fixtures. Gor Mahia will be keen to maintain their winning run, while the chasing pack will aim to close the gap at the top.
