49ers drop Jayden Daniels with game-ending sack for MNF win
Coach Kyle Shanahanâs San Francisco 49ers moved to 6-0 on the season with a huge last second take down of Commanders QB Jayden Daniels, who was chastised earlier in the game for his fourth down throwaway gaffe along with coach Dan Quinn . 49ers defensive end Romello Height sacked Daniels as he dropped way backward on the final play of the game, putting a bow on an injury-plagued Commanders loss.
The play started out at just past midfield with Washington trailing 23-17. Daniels dropped back in search of an avenue to throw a Hail Mary but didnât find one. Thatâs when Height came crashing through and sacked Daniels to end the game, unencumbered by a club on his right hand.

Daniels finished with 300 yards passing, but it wasnât enough to overcome an error an injury-plagued day as the 49ers remained the NFLâs one of three unbeaten teams, along with the Chiefs and Vikings, heading into Week 7.
It wasnât all good news for Shanahanâs team as star wideout Mike Evans exited due to an Achilles injury. Evans made a classy gesture toward Commanders star Terry McLaurin, who was carted off the field due to injury during the wild, intense Monday Night Football contest.
The night didnât go exactly as planned for Shanahan and Brock Purdyâs team, but it did end with another win, one that San Francisco can use as fuel as they work toward securing home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Thereâs still plenty of season to go, but for now, 49ers fans are thrilled with the way things have gone so far, and for good reason.
