What Lere Olayinka Said After A Lawyer Labelled Sowore A Tout And He Got Angry With His Followers In Court
Lere Olayinka, Senior Media Aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has criticised activist and AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore following an incident in which a lawyer allegedly described him as a “tout” in court.
Olayinka, reacting to the incident in a social media post, claimed that Sowore and his supporters became angry and unruly after the lawyer used the term against the activist.
The FCT minister’s aide also questioned Sowore’s reaction, recalling that the activist had previously described a sitting Nigerian president as a criminal.
“A lawyer called Sowore a TOUT and he, alongside his followers became angry and unruly,” Olayinka wrote.
“The same Sowore that called a sitting President a criminal o,” he added.
Olayinka further accused Sowore and his supporters of being unable to tolerate the kind of criticism or remarks they allegedly direct at other people.
“I have said it many times, these people can’t take 1% of what they do to others,” he stated.
The comments have brought attention to the exchange involving Sowore and the lawyer, although Olayinka’s post did not identify the lawyer, specify the court where the incident occurred or provide further details about what led to the confrontation.
The account of Sowore and his supporters becoming unruly was Olayinka’s characterisation of the incident; the post did not include an independent account of the courtroom proceedings.
