Both trucks are blocking the roadway, forcing authorities to close the affected section while arrangements are made to clear the scene.

Specialised recovery equipment will be required to safely recover the abnormal load, which is expected to keep the road closed for some time.

The duration of the closure is not yet known.

Truck drivers and other motorists travelling on the N2 towards Piet Retief are advised to approach the area with caution and prepare for delays.

The circumstances surrounding the collision, including whether anyone was injured, have not yet been confirmed.
