Rest in Peace: 9-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Stabbed to Death While Sleeping at Home

A nine-year-old boy, Heinrich Human, was allegedly murdered while sleeping at his home in Louisvale, near Raaswater, approximately 20 kilometres outside Upington in the Northern Cape.

Heinrich, a Grade 2 learner at Frank Biggs Primary School, was reportedly sleeping in an informal dwelling with his paralysed step-grandmother when a man allegedly forced open the door and attacked him with a sharp object, stabbing him several times.

According to reports, the woman screamed for help but was unable to prevent the attack. Heinrich was later found lying on the bed in a pool of blood and was declared dead at the scene.

Police were reportedly notified of the incident at approximately 03:05 on Sunday, 18 October 2026.

A 26-year-old man was arrested later that morning in connection with the alleged murder. Reports indicate that the suspect is the boyfriend of Heinrich’s mother.

The tragic incident has left the community saddened by the loss of the young boy, whose life was cut short at such a tender age.
