Her entrance to Athenian high society was a whirlwind of VIP parties and fast friendships with billionaires and even a Greek pop star.

But some of those very same big hitters who embraced Kimberly Guilfoyle, 57, when she arrived as US Ambassador to Greece late last year now appear to be distancing themselves in the fallout of her embarrassing ousting, sources have told the Daily Mail.

And as Guilfoyle’s glittering social circle goes quiet, a few signs of her once-glamorous diplomatic life remain at her official residence in the upscale Athens neighborhood of Kolonaki.

On Friday last week, a dry-cleaning van pulled up outside Jefferson House to deliver a collection of dresses and a large Saint Laurent bag, along with a mysterious white envelope.

The delivery offered a glimpse of life behind the walls of the residence as questions swirl over when Guilfoyle will leave Greece following her abrupt resignation after just 11 months on the job.

‘She was loads of fun when she arrived and some huge names quickly became part of her orbit,’ one Greek socialite who is close to Guilfoyle’s Greek inner circle told the Daily Mail.

‘She was made into a goddess by these people, but it’s noticeable they are not making any statements of support right now. They are scared.

‘The story is going to drag on, so having your name dragged with it is something no one wants – even if you are a billionaire whose reputation and standing outshines her.’

Some of the wealthy and well-connected figures who once embraced Kimberly Guilfoyle upon her arrival in Greece are now keeping their distance, sources tell the Daily Mail. She is pictured hitting the town in Athens shortly after being named US Ambassador to Greece in November of 2025

One such association was with dashing pop star Konstantinos Argiros, 40, a near-constant presence in Guilfoyle’s Athens ‘nightclub diplomacy’ after hosting herstar-studded welcome party in November 2025.

It is unclear exactly when the two first met. But their friendship came under sharp focus weeks before Guilfoyle’s ascension, when Argiros hauled her onstage at the Hellenic Initiative charity gala in London to dance to his hit song Mallon Kati Ksero.

And he told Greek talk show Enopios Enopio (Face to Face) in December 2025: ‘We met through my best man… we got acquainted and that’s when I realized how genuinely she wants to help the whole world.

‘She’s incredibly giving. What impressed me was how she looked after those around her.

‘That’s when she won me over as a person, without knowing her politics. She won me over in that way.

‘Later we developed a closer relationship; she met my family and I met hers, and that’s the bond we share.’

His tune was somewhat different this week following Guilfoyle’s resignation over claims she asked GOP donor Eric Deters for $100,000 to pay off her American Express bill, amid other ethics concerns. Guilfoyle denies the accsations.

Married Argiros appeared to deliberately side-step the opportunity to defend Guilfoyle when asked about her by a Greek TV journalist.

On Friday, a dry-cleaning delivery arrived at Guilfoyle’s official residence in Athens, just days after her humiliating ouster

‘I haven’t followed it, the whole affair. I don’t know the details,’ Argiros insisted at Athens International Airport as he prepared to jet off for a concert tour. ‘I’m not saying anything, If you want me to speak about music, I’m more than happy to.’

Argiros’s mother-in-law, Miranda Patera, a socialite of considerable standing in Athens circles and from a prominent shipping family, also appeared to be doing a distancing act this week.

It has been widely reported in Greek media that Guilfoyle might be godmother to the newborn of her daughter Alexandra and the singer.

When Argiros was filmed coming out of a maternity hospital in June, he didn’t deny questions about it.

But when asked the same thing by a journalist this week, Patera steered away from making a comment.

When pressed, she said there had been no such understanding about Guilfoyle’s possible role in the baby girl’s life.

In the intertwined world of Greek high society, Argiros and wife Alexandra are super close to fashion designer Celia Kritharioti and her shipping magnate husband, Nikolas Tsakos.

Ironically, it was Guilfoyle’s closeness to Tsakos that led to ethics allegations against her – over trips with him on his private jets – and her eventual downfall.

She spent Christmas and New Year with the Tsakos family at luxury Swiss resort Gstaad, and the tycoon also reportedly paid for Guilfoyle’s accommodation at the five-star Four Seasons George V hotel in Paris.

In a leaked audio recording, Guilfoyle was heard describing their close ties: ‘I see Nikos every f***ing day… he loves me. Honey, I spent Christmas with him.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to Tsakos for comment on Guilfoyle’s fall from grace.

Meanwhile, the society blowback continues with a prominent Greek publisher publicly lambasting designer Celia Kritharioti for her association with Guilfoyle.

Stathis Tsagkarousianos, who runs Athens magazine LiFO, demanded of the fashion designer in an open letter: ‘Of all the people you could have chosen, what exactly did you find in Guilfoyle that relates to elegance? Is this person your ideal influencer?’

Meanwhile, another source has told the Daily Mail: ‘When Kimberly arrived people were falling over themselves to get a shot with her. Everyone wanted a piece of her.

‘She even became a household name for your average Greek, such was her impact. She was just known as “Kimberly.”

‘There was a pop-star quality about her. Now she’s persona non grata for many people.’

However, Guilfoyle is being given the benefit in some quarters.

Another shipping tycoon told the Daily Mail: ‘I’m giving her some time to collect her thoughts and come to terms with what’s happening before reaching out.

‘We speak regularly. She did wonders for Greek-American relations.

‘Sure she got her hands dirty and behaved unlike any other ambassador but, in the end, she became so much more relatable and human to Greeks.’

The Daily Mail has contacted the US embassy in Athens for comment, but they refused to give details of Guilfoyle’s expected departure or her whereabouts.
