Meet the Nairobi Man Abandoned at a Lodging at 4 Months Old Who Is Searching for His Parents

Peter Njuguna, a Nairobi man who was abandoned at a lodging facility when he was just four months old, is appealing to the public for assistance in tracing his biological parents after spending 31 years without knowing his family.

Njuguna was born in June 1995 and was reportedly left at a lodging facility in Kayole, Nairobi, around October of the same year. Since then, his biological parents’ identities have remained unknown, leaving him with unanswered questions about his origins and family background.

Following his abandonment, he was taken to Kenya Children’s Home, formerly known as Thomas Barnardo House, where he grew up under the institution’s care. Although the home provided him with a place to live and grow, the circumstances surrounding his abandonment have remained a mystery throughout his life.

Over the years, efforts to identify and locate his biological parents have reportedly been unsuccessful. Despite the time that has passed, Njuguna has continued to hope that he will eventually discover the truth about his background and establish contact with his relatives.

Now aged 31, he has decided to make his story public in the hope that someone with useful information will help him find his family. He believes that reaching a wider audience could increase his chances of identifying his biological parents or locating other relatives who might know what happened when he was an infant.

The reasons behind his abandonment at the Kayole lodging facility remain unclear. It is also unknown whether his biological parents or other family members have made any attempts to find him since he was taken into care.

For Njuguna, discovering his family would mean more than simply learning the identities of his parents. It could also help him understand his personal history, uncover the circumstances surrounding his abandonment and establish connections with relatives he has never known.

Members of the public who recognise his story, know his biological parents or possess credible information that could assist in tracing his family are encouraged to come forward. Such information can be shared through the relevant authorities or The Standard newsroom.

Despite spending more than three decades without knowing his biological family, Njuguna remains hopeful that his search will eventually yield positive results. He continues to appeal for public assistance, believing that someone may hold the answers he has sought for much of his life.
