Man Who Married 70-Year-Old Woman Who Has Never Slept with Any Man Breaks Silence

Stanley Njagi has opened up about his love story with 70-year-old Phoebe Njoki, explaining how faith and prayer guided him to find love again after losing his first wife.

Speaking during an interview with Hope FM, Stanley said he had remained single for one and a half years following his wife’s death before he felt ready to consider another relationship.

The devoted Christian, who said he gave his life to Christ in 1969, explained that he sought God’s guidance rather than approaching women on his own initiative.

Stanley revealed that he prayed for a partner who was born again, retired and not from a village. He also asked a few friends to join him in prayer as he sought direction.

According to him, the answer led him to Phoebe, whom he had known since 1981 through Christian fellowship and as a colleague in the staff room.

Stanley said he gathered the courage to express his feelings through WhatsApp, drawing inspiration from the word of God. He later sent Phoebe a lengthy email reflecting on their longstanding connection before asking whether she would find it strange if he told her he loved her.

Phoebe said she was touched by his message and felt God’s peace as she considered his proposal. She explained that knowing Stanley for many years, particularly as a mentor, gave her comfort as she weighed the decision.

She also identified his consistency in his Christian faith as one of the qualities that made her fall in love with him.

The couple proceeded with their wedding after introducing each other to their families. Phoebe was particularly keen for Stanley to meet her elder sister, who had hosted her when she was younger.

Stanley’s children also welcomed the opportunity to meet Phoebe, with the family arranging a meeting in Nairobi. His son, who lives in the United States, also travelled to meet her.

Reflecting on their union, Stanley encouraged people seeking companionship to consider a partner who shares their Christian faith, noting that loneliness can be difficult.

Their story highlights how a longstanding friendship developed into marriage later in life, guided by shared beliefs and a commitment to faith.
