EPL Table After Tottenham Hotspur Won 3-1 On Monday

According to a report by BBC Sport on Monday, October 19, 2026, Tottenham Hotspur secured a crucial 3-1 victory over Coventry City in their Premier League encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham made a strong start and took the lead in the 14th minute when James Maddison scored a superb goal from outside the penalty area, with Mohammed Kudus providing the assist. The hosts continued to dominate possession and create scoring opportunities, while Coventry’s defensive efforts helped prevent them from conceding again before the interval.

Coventry improved after the restart and drew level in the 50th minute through Jack Rudoni. The midfielder finished with his right foot after receiving a pass from Brandon Thomas-Asante, giving the visitors renewed hope of earning a positive result. However, Tottenham responded positively and soon regained control of the match.

Omar Marmoush restored Tottenham’s advantage in the 58th minute with an impressive right-footed strike from outside the box, following an assist from Andrew Robertson. Maddison also played a key role in the attacking move, as Tottenham capitalised on an error by Coventry goalkeeper Carl Rushworth to regain the lead.

Coventry pushed forward in search of another equaliser during the closing stages, but Tottenham remained focused on securing all three points despite the visitors’ pressure. The hosts eventually put the result beyond doubt in the 96th minute when Ben Davies found the net with a left-footed effort from outside the penalty area after being set up by Dominic Solanke.

Tottenham ended the encounter with 66 per cent possession and deserved their victory after taking their chances more effectively. The result moves Roberto De Zerbi’s side out of the relegation zone and into 16th place in the Premier League table. Meanwhile, Coventry slipped to 17th following the defeat and are now just one point clear of the relegation zone.
