President Donald Trump is giving people another unusual glimpse into his marriage to First Lady Melania Trump after revealing the formal name he claims she uses for him in private.

During a recent rally speech, the president recalled a conversation with his wife that left him sharing an unexpected detail about their interactions. The revelation comes amid ongoing reports that the couple has been living increasingly separate lives, prompting social media users to weigh in on the latest news about their relationship. The president held a rally on October 7th in San Antonio, Texas, in support of Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton. During his remarks, the president went on a rant about Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico, whom he accused of being a vegan, before recalling a conversation with Melania about how to pronounce the word.

According to the Apprentice star, his wife corrected him after he repeatedly mispronounced "vegan," telling him to say it properly. However, it was the way he claimed she addressed him during the exchange that caught people's attention, as he recalled Melania referring to him as "sir" rather than using his name or a more affectionate nickname.

"You know, my wife told me, 'Sir, do me a favor. You have to do me just a little bit of favor. It's not 'vay-gun,' it's 'vee-gun,'" he recalled. "I don't know about that stuff. I'm not into it… How the hell would I know? I like steak."

It is not every day that the 80-year-old commander in chief shares details about the way he and Melania speak to each other behind closed doors, making the story an unusual glimpse into their relationship. In fact, more reports have come out over the last few years that the couple hardly interact with one another outside their official duties, and practically "live separate lives."

Rather than finding the story endearing, many social media users appeared to find the pet name awkward and cringeworthy, writing comments about it on different platforms.
