Bauchi NDC Governorship Candidate, Ibrahim Kashim, Resigns From Party
According to a report by DAILY POST on Monday 19 October 2026; Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Bauchi State for the 2027 general elections, has resigned his membership of the party.
Kashim communicated his decision in a resignation letter dated October 16, 2026, addressed to the NDC chairman in Bauchi Local Government Area.
In the letter, he formally notified the party of his decision to withdraw his membership, describing it as a personal choice reached after careful consideration.
He wrote, “I hereby formally tender my resignation from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), effective from the date of this letter.”
The governorship candidate also expressed appreciation to the party’s leadership and members for the opportunity to associate with the NDC.
Kashim further requested that the party acknowledge his resignation and update its records to reflect his departure.
“Please accept the assurances of my highest regards,” he added.
His resignation comes as political parties continue preparations for the 2027 general elections.
However, the letter did not disclose the specific reasons behind his decision, and it remains unclear whether he intends to join another political party or pursue a different political path.
The development could have implications for the NDC’s preparations in Bauchi State ahead of the next governorship election.
