Bank of Ghana Releases Official Daily Exchange Rates for Monday, October 19th, 2026

The Bank of Ghana has released its official daily exchange rates for Monday, 19 October 2026. The rates are the average interbank rates used by commercial banks for transactions at the close of business on Friday, 16 October 2026.

The US dollar is buying at GH₵11.6592 and selling at GH₵11.6708. This means a commercial bank would pay about GH₵11.66 for one dollar and sell it for about GH₵11.67. The gap between the two rates is very small, at roughly GH₵0.0116.

The British pound is buying at GH₵15.5370 and selling at GH₵15.5537. The pound remains the strongest of the three currencies against the cedi. The spread between the buying and selling rates is about GH₵0.0167.

The euro is buying at GH₵13.0904 and selling at GH₵13.1023. It sits between the dollar and the pound. The spread is about GH₵0.0119, the narrowest of the three.

These figures serve as a useful guide for businesses, importers, exporters and individuals who trade in foreign currencies. Many Ghanaians depend on these rates when they pay for imported goods, settle school fees abroad or receive money from relatives overseas.

Readers should note that the published rates are interbank averages. Commercial banks and forex bureaus may add their own margins, so the rates offered to customers can differ slightly. People planning large transactions are therefore advised to confirm the rates with their banks before proceeding.

The Bank of Ghana releases these rates every working day to promote transparency in the foreign exchange market. The full details are available on the central bank’s website, www.bog.gh. The bank also shares updates on Facebook, X and LinkedIn under the handle @thebankofghana.

Following these daily updates helps individuals and businesses make informed financial decisions. It also allows them to plan their foreign currency needs with greater confidence.
