Share on Twitter Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu marked his long-awaited return to AS Monaco’s starting lineup by helping the French side claim a 2-1 away victory over CSKA Sofia.

The 27-year-old made his first start in 285 days, playing 60 minutes in an assured defensive display as Monaco secured all three points.

Salisu delivered an impressive performance at the heart of the defence, recording seven clearances, two recoveries and one shot, while preventing opponents from dribbling past him throughout his time on the pitch.

His composed display offered another positive sign in his return to full fitness after a lengthy spell away from the starting XI.
