Joan Collins, 93, highlights her ageless beauty in red hot look for 61-year-old husband’s birthday
LEAVE A COMMENT Joan Collins was in a celebratory mood this week, celebrating the 61st birthday of her husband Percy by sharing a gorgeous new picture of the pair.
In the picture, the two had big smiles on their faces, with Dame Joan wearing a fabulous black velvet dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline and a red feather boa. The 93-year-old wore her hair in a large blowout, and added bright red lipstick and matching nails to complete the look.
Percy, who is 32 years her junior, complemented his wife with a red ascot neckerchief.
"Wishing my husband a wonderful birthday and much love always," Joan captioned the post. Close friends Elizabeth Hurley and Alana Stewart both commented, wishing "glorious Percy" a happy birthday.
Joan met Percy in 2000 when she was performing in a San Francisco play, Love Letters, which Percy was producing; Joan's ex-boyfriend George Hamilton was her co-star.
Percy proposed soon after and the pair wed on February 17, 2002, at Claridges London.
On their 13th wedding anniversary in 2015, Joan and Percy spoke to HELLO! about their marriage, with Percy criticising detractors who said their union would never last.
"People are entitled to their opinion but it's good to prove them wrong. I've certainly never been happier and I hope that I make Joan happy because she definitely deserves that," he said.
Joan added: "It is my fifth marriage, and my happiest, and last. Percy is wonderful, he's my soul mate. That doesn't mean we don't bicker but we are very understanding of each other."
Joan found fame in the 1950s after training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art but it was the 1980s that brought global superstardom as she starred as Alexis Colby in the soap opera Dynasty.
It brought her critical acclaim, winning a Golden Globe in 1982 and earning an Emmy nomination.
In recent years, she has focused her work on the stage but appeared alongside her good friend Elizabeth in the TV series The Royals between 2014 and 2018.
Joan spent her formative years in Hollywood; she began a romance with then-unknown actor Warren Beatty in 1959, but his infidelity led to a split in 1961. She went on to date Harry Belafonte, Dennis Hopper, Sydney Chaplin, and Ryan O'Neal
She has been married five times. In 1952, at 19, Joan wed Irish actor Maxwell Reed who was 33. She claimed he drugged and date-raped her, and she wed him out of shame.
She filed for divorce four years later when she found out he was allegedly offering her to older men for £10,000 a night, on the condition that he could watch.
In 1963, when she was five months pregnant, Joan married singer-songwriter Anthony Newley, and they welcomed two children, daughter Tara (born 12 October 1963) and son Alexander (born 8 September 1965). The couple divorced in 1971.
Less than a year later, Joan married her third husband, American businessman Ron Kass, while six months pregnant with their daughter Katyana (born 20 June 1972).
Katyana was hit by a car at the age of eight and was in a coma for 42 days; she later recovered, but the stress destroyed her marriage with Ron, and they later divorced.
Joan married a fourth time in 1985 to Peter Holm but she called him a "bully" and they divorced two years later.
