Guinness rewards loyal customers

Guinness Nigeria Plc recently rewarded consumers at the conclusion of its Guinness Open For More national consumer promotion. According to the company, 1,075 consumers were rewarded over 10 weeks, with Queen Thompson emerging as the grand prize winner of a N150 million Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV. At the grand prize presentation in Lagos, Girish Sharma, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Guinness Nigeria Plc, while presenting said the dynamics are changing as the company is deepening commitment to rewarding consumer loyalty. “I’m particularly excited that the winner is a woman. Many didn’t know that Guinness consumers are now 50-50 men and women. The dynamics are changing as we deepen commitment to rewarding consumer loyalty.” Launched on July 18, 2026, the promotion rewarded 1,000 consumers with N100,000 each and another 75 with 1 million each, before the grand prize draw delivered the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado to Thompson. The campaign was conducted under the regulatory oversight of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC). The commission provided oversight throughout the promotion, including approval of its terms, winner selection and prize delivery, reinforcing transparency and accountability. Mayor Esiaba, Head of Beer, Guinness Nigeria Plc, said the promotion was designed to recognise consumers who continue to choose the iconic stout. We are proud of the trust Nigerians place in the brand and will continue creating experiences that reward their loyalty,” he said. Ifeoluwapo Odedere, Senior Brand Manager, Guinness, added that the promotion brought the brand’s Open For More promise to life by turning consumer participation into tangible rewards. “Seeing consumers win from the N100,000 prizes to the N1 million rewards and now the grand prize Prado has been deeply fulfilling. We are grateful to everyone who participated and look forward to creating more rewarding experiences,” Odedere said. An elated Thompson described her win as unexpected, recalling that previous experiences with fraud had made her initially sceptical when she received the notification. “I am still in shock! I never imagined that opening a bottle of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout would lead to me driving home in a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Having been swindled twice this year, I initially cut the call because I was yet to recover from those experiences. I am so grateful to Guinness for this life-changing gift. Truly, what God cannot do does not exist,” she said. The successful completion of Open For More underscores Guinness Nigeria’s commitment to recognising consumer loyalty and creating meaningful brand experiences, supported by regulatory oversight to ensure fairness and transparency.
