Adeleke: My Mother Is From Osun,I Can Tell You,If He Says“Vote Tinubu,They’ll Go Against Him-Momodu
African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Dele Momodu, has said voters in Osun State could reject both Governor Ademola Adeleke and President Bola Tinubu if the governor asks them to support the president ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Momodu argued that the support Adeleke enjoys among his people is based on his performance in office and should not be interpreted as an unconditional commitment to follow his political decisions.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the ADC chieftain discussed the political situation in Osun State, stressing that voters could make independent decisions regardless of their governor’s political preferences.
“I am partly from Osun. My mother came from Osun. They supported Ademola Adeleke because he performed, but that support is not unconditional. I can tell you, if he tells them today to vote for Tinubu, they will go against him and they will go against Tinubu,” Momodu said.
The media personality’s remarks suggest that he believes Adeleke’s political support is closely linked to how residents assess his administration rather than an automatic willingness to accept his preferred candidate in a presidential election.
Momodu also indicated that voters in the state could separate their assessment of the governor’s performance from their views about Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adeleke, who was elected governor of Osun State in 2022, has remained a significant political figure in the state, where party affiliations and assessments of government performance are important factors in electoral contests.
