Xolani Zuma says he and Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma may face arrest

Ask AI 1minXolani Zuma says he and March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma (pictured) are prepared to hand themselves over if reports of arrest warrants are confirmed. Police have yet to verify the claim.

An explosive arrest claim has rocked March and March after Xolani Zuma announced that a warrant had been issued against him and the movement’s leader, Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, who is also his wife.

Zuma said the warrants are related to the activities of the controversial movement, which has campaigned against undocumented immigration in SA.

However, he questioned whether the information was genuine, saying their team was working to establish the facts.

Zuma’s statement did not identify the specific activities allegedly linked to the reported warrants, and there has been no independent confirmation that they have been issued.

Despite his doubts, Zuma said he and Ngobese-Zuma were prepared to face the authorities if the information proved to be true.

“I do not believe that it is true, but to the extent that it is, we are available to hand ourselves over to the Police today,” he said.

March and March has become a prominent voice in South Africa’s heated immigration debate, calling for action against undocumented foreign nationals.

The announcement has sparked a defiant response among the movement’s supporters, with thousands standing behind its leadership as uncertainty surrounds the alleged legal action.

Among them is supporter Sizwesethu Ndlangisa, who expressed his determination to continue the campaign despite the reported developments.

“If being South African is a crime then asiboshwe. Until we win,” Ndlangisa said.

Another supporter, Nkulumane Tribe, suggested that the reported warrants could be an attempt to suppress peaceful protest and called for political consequences.

“If this is an attempt to silence peaceful protest, it is a reckless abuse of power and yet another reason to vote this government out. Sebephelelwe amacebo (They have run out of ideas),” Tribe said.

With uncertainty surrounding the alleged warrants, Zuma also moved to prevent the announcement from triggering unrest among the movement’s supporters.

“Our team is investigating the veracity of the information, and we request all the members of March and March Movement to remain calm during this period, we still call for peaceful solutions to our domestic problems,” he said.
