Travis Kelce Reportedly ‘Genuinely Upset’ Over ‘Friction’ as He & Taylor Swift Move into Their 1st Home
If you’re a high-profile couple like them, renovations are always in order, no matter what type of property you buy. Most of those renovations focus on one thing: improving privacy. Swift and Kelce bought a property in Bratenahl, Ohio, and are planning to add a six-foot fence and numerous trees around the property for privacy. However, they’ve run into opposition from the neighbors. One particular resident, Katherine Bolton, was concerned about the trees being planted close to a century-old clay sewer pipe, which could have “catastrophic” consequences for her own home.
According to Star, the couple has tried very hard not to upset the community. “The last thing they wanted was to have any sort of friction with their neighbors [and] have tried so hard to make sure people would be happy.” That includes covering expenses that would ordinarily be shared.
The pushback has reportedly left them “genuinely upset,” with a source telling the outlet, “It’s hard to feel welcome when this sort of sentiment is being expressed in the community and by people living right next door.”
“But if it can’t be resolved and it turns out people are just intent on being hateful towards them, it’s conceivable that they’d give up and sell the place,” the source continued.
The couple reportedly has also added some security features that have left locals feeling like their neighborhood has changed. Among them is an automated warning system that sends an alert when someone comes too close to the house.
“A neighbor approached the house and got a voice warning about not passing onto the property after getting too close to the house,” one resident explained.
If you’re Swift and Kelce, that just makes sense.

Kelce recently discussed buying the home with his older brother, Jason Kelce, on their New Heights podcast. “This is a way that I can always cement myself back into the east side of Cleveland,” he said.
He’d previously gushed about Cleveland to ESPN, saying he has “so much love for this city.”
“I say it all the time: I’m just a kid from the Heights living the dream. I credit every good thing in my life to Cleveland and being raised here with the values and the people and the work ethic,” he stated. “Cleveland Heights is such a diverse and dynamic place. Every friend, neighbor, teacher and teammate — they all made me the man I am today. It just fueled such a deep appreciation for life and community and service. That mentality of Cleveland against the world runs deep.”
