Tinubu: There Has Never Been a Time When One Man Deserves Re-election Like This –Soludo

According to a report by Arise News on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, declaring that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is a partner in the president’s political journey towards a second term.

Soludo’s position reflects APGA’s decision to adopt Tinubu as its preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, while retaining the party’s candidates for legislative positions.

“There has never been a time when one man deserves re-election like this, APGA is a partner in Tinubu’s journey back to Aso Rock,” The governor said, expressing strong confidence in Tinubu’s bid.

The endorsement follows APGA’s explanation that its support for Tinubu is rooted in political cooperation, shared progressive ideals and the party’s longstanding approach to maintaining a working relationship with the government at the centre.

Soludo previously recalled that APGA adopted former President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party as its presidential candidate in 2011. He said the party’s latest decision follows a similar strategy of building an alliance with the ruling government.

The governor’s support also comes as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 election.

The APC has expanded its Presidential Campaign Council to include prominent politicians who belong to other parties, including Soludo, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike.

Soludo’s position places APGA among the political groups backing Tinubu’s second-term ambition, even as the party continues to maintain its separate identity and pursue electoral contests at the state and legislative levels.

The development highlights the growing cross-party alliances taking shape ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with political leaders positioning themselves around competing strategies for national leadership.
