The Campaign Message That Helped Kojo Bamba Pull A Surprise In NPP Election Surfaces Online

Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, has recorded an unexpected victory in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) national executive elections after running a campaign that emphasised his identity as a grassroots party member, according to a report by Graphic Online.

Kojo Bamba was elected First National Vice Chairman after defeating 12 other contestants. His campaign centred on the argument that delegates could support two highly educated or elite candidates while choosing him as the “machoman” who would stand up for ordinary party members and protect their votes.

He consistently reminded delegates that he occupied number two on the ballot paper, using the position as a key part of his campaign strategy. He also linked his message to the NPP’s determination to return to power, presenting himself as a committed party loyalist ready to defend the interests of members at all levels.

The approach appeared to resonate with delegates, helping him outperform several candidates who were considered more prominent within the party. Kojo Bamba secured 3,116 votes to emerge victorious, narrowly defeating Henry Nana Boakye, who received 3,061 votes. Nana Akomea finished third with 2,987 votes.

His victory was particularly surprising because he had not been widely regarded as one of the leading contenders before the election. According to Graphic Online, several opinion polls had placed him outside the top three, making his eventual first-place finish an unexpected development.

The outcome represents a significant achievement for Kojo Bamba as he takes up a key position in the NPP’s national leadership. His success demonstrates how a campaign built around grassroots identity, loyalty and a promise to protect party members can attract substantial support, even against experienced and better-known competitors.
