The incident happened nearly two weeks ago. The sheriff’s office released body camera footage of the encounter Tuesday.

A deputy entered the home after receiving a report of a burglary in progress and confronted a man suspected of stealing copper. The deputy pointed a gun at the man and warned him to surrender or be shot.

The suspect did not comply and slowly walked into another room before jumping through a closed window, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies recovered a backpack and driver’s license at the scene. Investigators said the suspect now faces several charges, including burglary, resisting arrest and obstructing an officer.
