RIYADH/SANAA  –  The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said Tuesday that it had conducted a military operation targeting Houthi capabilities linked to fuel facilities in Sanaa, Hodeidah and Dhamar, accusing the militia of exploiting civilian infrastructure to support missile and drone attacks against Saudi Arabia and international shipping routes.

Yemen’s Houthi-run health ministry says two people were killed when an oil company in the Red Sea province of Hodeidah was attacked, blaming Saudi Arabia for the strike.

Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki said the Joint Forces Command had established that the Houthis were using civilian facilities and vital resources to sustain their military operations. The facilities identified included Al-Sabaha Central Station in Sanaa, underground fuel reserves, storage tanks and infrastructure used for transporting and unloading fuel in Hodeidah, Sanaa and Dhamar.

Al-Maliki said the militia had diverted these resources from their intended civilian purposes to directly support its military operations, depriving the Yemeni population of essential supplies. He said the operation focused on neutralizing Houthi capabilities used to threaten Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the southern Red Sea and international maritime routes. “The Houthis must immediately cease all terrorist operations targeting civilians and civilian facilities, including airports, ports, oil installations and infrastructure,” Al-Maliki said.

The announcement follows an earlier coalition warning urging civilians to evacuate Al-Sabaha Central Station in Sanaa ahead of a planned military operation. US President Donald Trump said Tuesday Iran-backed Houthi rebels who control vast swaths of Yemen are “behaving very badly” in the conflict with a Saudi-backed coalition.

The group has recently escalated attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea and the vital Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The Houthis launched attacks on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport in recent days, killing 13 people, wounding more than 300, and closing the skies above the Saudi capital.

Trump tells reporters that he “might” ask Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to intervene and support Saudi interests. “President Erdogan, I think, would do as I ask,” Trump says.

Trump quips at a campaign rally that the US “might have gone too far” in its campaign to assassinate Iran’s leaders during the war, because now the US doesn’t “know who the hell we’re dealing with.” Trump made the apparently off-the-cuff remarks at a campaign rally in Ohio yesterday evening. He seemed to be speaking in a lighthearted manner and was smiling. “They got no ships, they got no nothing, they got no leaders, even, that’s the problem,” Trump said. “We might have gone too far with the leaders because we don’t know who the hell we’re dealing with.” US President Donald Trump says that Washington is going to make a decision on Iran “very soon.”
