Paul McCartney Does Have One Small Concern About Paul Mescal Playing Him On Screen
However, the music legend has admitted that thereās one aspect to Paul Mescal playing him that he canāt quite get on board with.
āGuess what? Heās smaller than the guy that plays John [Lennon],ā an aghast Sir Paul told Amy Poehler in the latest episode of her podcast Good Hang.
āSam Mendes is making the film. I said, āSam, Iāve got just one thing that I need to say to you⦠Paulās a bit small!āā
Sir Paul McCartney in December 2022via Associated PressThe 19-time Grammy winner continued: āI donāt know how Samās going to deal with it. He sent me a picture ā a still from the filming they were doing, and theyāre crossing the Abbey Road crossing. And the Paul character is markedly smaller!ā
āAnd you canāt put lifts on those bare feet!ā Amy quipped.

For the record, Paul Mescal is a respectable 5ā11ā, around the same height as the musician heās playing, while his co-star Harris Dickinson is 6ā2ā compared to John Lennonās 5ā10ā.
Oscar winner Sam Mendes is currently cooking up four different films about each of The Beatles, which will be released simultaneously in 2028.
Besides Harris and Paul, the movies will also feature Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, while the late George Harrison will be portrayed by Joseph Quinn.
Paul Mescal via Associated PressProducer Pippa Harris told an audience at the London Film Festival earlier this week that the idea for the moviesā release was that people should ābe able to experience them in the cinema during the same periodā ā but not necessarily the same day.
āSo within the same month, you might see one a week, or you might see one weekend and two the next and one the next,ā she noted (as reported by Variety).
āHowever you see it, I think our hope is that people will see all four films.ā
