Osimhen: What Barcelona’s Yamal said about Galatasaray star’s disallowed goal
According to a report Daily Post on Wednesday October 14, 2026, Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has admitted that Victor Osimhen’s disallowed goal made a significant difference in the Spanish giants’ 4-1 Champions League victory over Galatasaray.
Osimhen thought he had doubled Galatasaray’s lead with a powerful header from a corner during Tuesday’s encounter at RAMS Park in Istanbul. However, the goal was ruled out following a VAR review, denying the Nigerian striker a potentially crucial contribution.
Barcelona eventually recovered to secure a convincing victory, but Yamal acknowledged that the visitors could have faced a much tougher contest if the goal had stood.
“If Galatasaray’s second goal hadn’t been disallowed, our job in Istanbul would have been very tough!” the Spanish teenager said, according to Le Marca Sports.
Yamal also recognised the difficulty of playing at RAMS Park, praising Galatasaray’s quality and the intimidating atmosphere created by their supporters.
“We knew we were going to play in a really tough stadium. This is one of the hardest places we could play away. Galatasaray is a quality team,” he added.
The result leaves Barcelona with six points from their opening two Champions League matches, while Galatasaray are still searching for their first point after consecutive defeats to Sporting CP and the Spanish side.
