Natasha drops 2Baba Idibia’s surname amid separation rumours

A video of Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru introducing herself without the surname of her partner, Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has generated reactions on social media.

Natasha, who represents Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, shared the video on Instagram on Tuesday.

Addressing fellow lawmakers, she introduced herself as “Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru,” while her nameplate also displayed Osawaru without Idibia.

“Mr Speaker, my name is Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, member representing the very great people of Egor Constituency and, by God’s grace, the minority leader of this House,” she said.

The lawmaker was speaking in support of a bill aimed at improving emergency response across Edo State.

She cited flooding, erosion, fire outbreaks and building collapses as challenges requiring government intervention.

However, attention shifted to her surname and appearance, with several Instagram users commenting on her outfit and apparent weight gain.

The development comes weeks after Natasha was absent from 2Baba’s 51st birthday celebration in Lagos.

Neither Natasha nor the singer has publicly confirmed a separation.

The couple were engaged in a confrontation a couple of months ago at a popular Abuja nightclub after Natasha stormed the venue with several bodyguards as 2Baba was scheduled to perform.

The tension was however doused as her husband took her into the venue where they were seen chatting.
