Man Found Lying on the Floor in KZN After He Was Reportedly Attacked By a Pitbull
A pit bull attacked a man in Buffelsdale, Tongaat, KwaZulu-Natal, on the afternoon of Monday, October 12, 2026, causing him to sustain significant injuries. The incident occurred in the suburb of Tongaat.
A request for assistance was received by the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 4:55 p.m., which led an emergency reaction to be initiated in response to the situation. Immediately after the incident occurred, officers were sent to the location to examine the situation and provide assistance to the injured individual.
As soon as the officers arrived, they discovered him laying on the ground, surrounded by a number of members of the general public. In addition to being profusely bleeding, he had sustained many wounds, most notably down the right side of his body. The fact that the man appeared to be feeble also caused others who were there at the scene to be concerned about the severity of his injuries.
According to the information that was presented by witnesses, the assault took place when the man was strolling along a route in the Buffelsdale neighbourhood. Their first-hand accounts indicate that the pit bull suddenly attacked him, which resulted in a violent confrontation between the man and the animal.
It has been claimed that the pedestrian had major injuries as a result of the incident. Despite the fact that witnesses went into detail about the struggle, the initial report did not provide any information regarding the circumstances behind the dog’s behaviour or the events that led up to the attack.
A security officer who was there at the site offered first aid to the individual before he could be sent to a hospital for additional medical treatment. While the injured guy was being transported to a medical facility, this help was provided to him while plans were being made.
In the aftermath of the assault, he was taken to a clinic in a private vehicle so that he could undergo further evaluation and treatment for the wounds that he had sustained during the assault. The initial story did not include any information regarding the location of the facility or any more information regarding his condition after he was transported there.
In addition, the report did not specify whether or not the pit bull was restrained after the occurrence, who owned the animal, or whether or not any other actions had been taken in connection with the attack. There is no confirmation of such particulars.
A number of individuals in the immediate vicinity were there when the cops who were dispatched to the scene arrived, since the incident had captured the interest of those in the vicinity. Their presence, together with the first aid that was provided by the security officer, participated in the initial response that took place prior to the man being sent to a medical facility for treatment.
It has been established, based on the evidence that is currently available, that the man was assaulted as he was walking along the road, that he sustained multiple significant injuries, and that he got aid at the site. There were no additional specifics about his recuperation or the events that transpired in the aftermath of the tragedy that were included in the first report at that point in time.
