Possible revival of Saarc expected to feature in talks
Maldivian President Dr Mohamed Muizzu will visit Pakistan from October 20 to 22, his first visit to the country in more than a decade, with meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif scheduled during the trip.
The sources divulged on Wednesday that the Maldivian president will hold talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while a separate meeting with President Zardari is also planned.
Pakistan and the Maldives are expected to sign around a dozen agreements during the visit, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.
The two sides will also discuss regional developments. The possible revival of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) is also expected to feature in the talks.
The Maldivian president last visited Pakistan in May 2015, according to sources.
