The hosts made an immediate impact, taking the lead in the first minute through Pablo Barrios. He finished Alex Baena’s assist to put Atletico ahead before Manchester United had settled into the match.

Atletico maintained control for much of the opening half and thought they had extended their advantage shortly before the interval. However, Johnny Cardoso’s effort was ruled out for offside.

Manchester United’s task became more difficult in the 74th minute when Leny Yoro was sent off, leaving the visitors to finish the match with 10 players.

Lookman had replaced Julian Alvarez three minutes earlier and made his contribution in the 79th minute. The Nigeria international converted a straightforward tap-in to complete the scoring.

The goal was Lookman’s second for Diego Simeone’s side across all competitions this season.

Victor Osimhen made his first UEFA Champions League appearance of the season for Galatasaray, who were beaten 4-1 by Barcelona at RAMS Park.

Galatasaray took the lead two minutes before the half-hour mark when Aleksey Batrakov found the net, putting the home side in front and raising hopes of a positive result in front of their supporters.

The Turkish side appeared to have doubled their advantage in the 34th minute through Bar?s Alper Y?lmaz. His goal was disallowed for offside, however, giving Barcelona a route back into the contest.

Barcelona took advantage of that reprieve and levelled two minutes before half-time. Joao Cancelo scored to send the sides into the interval on equal terms.

The Catalan side took control after the break, scoring three further goals to turn the match decisively in their favour.

Fermin Lopez, Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi were all on target as Barcelona completed a commanding 4-1 victory.
