Jomo Cosmos suffers first defeat of the season

SEDIBENG.- Jomo Cosmos was brought to their knees in the ABC Motsepe League campaign after losing 1-0 to TUT at the TUT sports ground over the weekend.

This follows a strong start to the season, in which they beat Young Pirates FC at home.

Club owner Jomo Sono will certainly not be happy with this result, especially as Cosmos cannot afford to repeat last season’s mistakes of dropping points in matches, they should be winning.

Currently sitting in seventh place on the log, the team finds itself in a similar position to last season, when it had to battle to avoid the relegation zone.

Looking ahead, Cosmos will host Mike-1-Stars FC at Duduza Stadium this Saturday with kick-off at 15:00. Because Isak Steyl Stadium is currently under construction, Cosmos have moved their home games to Duduza Stadium and may play all their first-round home matches there while the venue is being completed. However, the team has fond memories of Duduza Stadium due to previous successes there.

Their upcoming opponents, Mike-1-Stars FC, arrive following a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates’ Babies, setting the stage for a very tough match for Ezenkosi against a stubborn opponent.
