“I Cancelled Business Deals Over LilWin’s Threats That’s Why I Sued Him” – Van
According to a Post by TheBBCGhana on Facebook Official account on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has reportedly taken fellow actor Lilwin to court over alleged defamatory remarks, demanding GH¢10 million in compensation.
According to details contained in the court documents, Van Vicker claims that statements allegedly made by Lilwin have caused him fear and concern. He reportedly cancelled all his planned business trips to Kumasi because of the threats he says were made against him.
The legal action is connected to comments Lilwin allegedly made before the production of the movie A Journey to Africa, which was filmed at Nzulezu. During the controversy, Lilwin reportedly threatened to ensure that Van Vicker would no longer feature in Kumawood productions.
Van Vicker is now asking the court to grant him several forms of relief if his claims are upheld. These include GH¢10 million in exemplary damages, additional compensation for alleged libel, and payment of the legal expenses associated with the case.
Beyond the financial demands, the actor is also seeking a public retraction of the statements and an apology from Lilwin. According to his request, the apology should be published on news portals for four consecutive weeks.
Furthermore, Van Vicker wants the court to issue an order preventing Lilwin from making similar statements against him in the future.
The lawsuit could become another major development in the disagreement between the two Ghanaian actors, particularly because of their positions in the country’s movie industry.
The details of the case were shared in a Facebook post by The BBC Ghana. The final outcome will depend on the court’s consideration of the claims and the evidence presented by both parties.
