“How do you see me and snub me What did I do to you” –Jantuah on collapsed friendship with Torkornoo
Nana Yaa Jantuah has revealed details about her strained relationship with former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, claiming that repeated public snubs led her to discuss the matter openly.
During an interview on Asempa FM, Jantuah recounted how they met at a National Peace Council conference and established a friendly relationship after exchanging phone numbers.
She said she later contacted Torkornoo to congratulate her on becoming Chief Justice, but their cordial relationship did not last.
Jantuah alleged that Torkornoo subsequently began ignoring her at public functions whenever she attempted to greet her. She expressed disappointment over what she described as a sudden change in the former Chief Justice’s attitude.
She further recalled calling Torkornoo to inform her about a particular matter, only to receive a response that she considered dismissive.
Jantuah said she made additional attempts to preserve their relationship, including greeting Torkornoo respectfully at a funeral, but claimed her gesture was ignored. She also alleged that another similar incident occurred at a separate gathering.
Although she expressed frustration about the situation, Jantuah maintained that she does not regard Torkornoo as an enemy. Instead, she believes the former Chief Justice chose to distance herself despite their earlier friendship.
Jantuah said the repeated experiences contributed to her decision to speak publicly about controversies involving Torkornoo.
She questioned why Torkornoo would ignore her in public and expressed uncertainty about what might have caused the apparent breakdown in their relationship.
