Former WWE Star Addresses Potential Return After Five Years Away

č¶ Connect with us on Bluesky → Kalisto’s WWE career may have ended more than five years ago, but he isn’t ready to say he’ll never be back.

Speaking to TMZ’s Inside the Ring, the former WWE star was asked directly whether he feels like he has unfinished business with WWE or if that chapter of his career is behind him. Kalisto didn’t give a definitive answer either way, explaining that where he goes next will depend on his health and the projects he’s currently pursuing.

ā€œI listen to my body a lot and also, too, where things can take me. It all depends on what I’m doing, you know, my projects that I’m working on and everything.ā€

While he stopped short of teasing a comeback, Kalisto admitted the idea of returning to WWE has definitely crossed his mind. At the same time, he said he also sees coaching becoming a big part of his future because helping other wrestlers develop is something he’s passionate about.

ā€œYeah, I think about it. I think about it, too. But also, too, I love giving so much back that that’s something, too, that I look forward to in the future—either with coaching, worldwide, not just near, you know. I just—I love to teach. I love to give back. And it makes me feel grateful, too. That’s how I see myself in the future.ā€

For now, though, everything comes back to one thing—his knee. Kalisto said he’s taking things one step at a time, keeping his options open and waiting to see how his recovery goes before making any major decisions about the next chapter of his career.

ā€œBut for now, let me see where my knee takes me. And I’m kind of—I’m all ears right now. Yeah. You know, so it’s just—that’s one thing that did cross my mind, but I’m just keeping my ears open, how I listen to my body, and we’ll just take it from there, you know.ā€

The former WWE Superstar then made it clear that retirement isn’t in his mindset. Whatever comes next, Kalisto says he isn’t someone who quits.

ā€œI’m a person that I never give up. I keep pushing no matter what. I get hard-headed with that so much. But, yeah, that’s something, too, that—we’ll see.ā€

Nothing is official, and Kalisto isn’t teasing a return date. But he also isn’t ready to close the book on WWE. More than five years after his release, the former champion admits the idea has crossed his mind, so it may just come down to whether his knee gives him one more shot.
