‘Don’t Want Divorce’: Khagaria SP Bhanu Pratap Singh’s Wife Seeks Reconciliation

The family dispute involving Bhanu Pratap Singh, an IPS officer and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bihar’s Khagaria district, has returned to the spotlight after his wife, Pooja Singh, met Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Preeta Verma to present her side of the matter and seek a resolution.

Speaking to the media, Pooja Singh said she did not want a divorce and remained hopeful of reconciling with her husband. She also stressed that she did not want the ongoing family dispute to affect his professional career.

Describing Bhanu Pratap Singh as an honest police officer, Pooja said she did not want him to lose his job because of their personal differences. She added that she had shared his dream of becoming an IPS officer and did not want his career to suffer.

According to Pooja, Bhanu Pratap had expressed a desire to make a fresh start. She said she hoped their differences could be resolved through dialogue and that their relationship could be restored.

Pooja said she met DGP Preeta Verma to explain her position and explore the possibility of an amicable settlement. According to her account, the DGP had given the couple five days to work towards resolving their differences.

She added that if Bhanu Pratap did not agree to a settlement within the stipulated period, the DGP would summon both of them for a discussion.

There has been no fresh public statement from Bhanu Pratap Singh regarding the proposed reconciliation, leaving his position on the latest development unclear.

Reports of a dispute between the couple emerged in September 2026. At the time, Pooja Singh travelled to Bharatpur in Rajasthan and lodged a complaint against her husband and in-laws.

Following her meeting with the Bihar DGP, Pooja has expressed hope that the matter can be resolved amicably. The outcome will depend on the couple’s willingness to engage in dialogue and reach a mutually acceptable understanding.
