Confirmed: Real Madrid Superstar Ruled Out of El Clasico After Four-Match Ban
According to a report by Madrid Universal on Wednesday October 14, 2026, Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has been handed a four-match suspension following his red card during the club’s 1-0 victory over Villarreal on Saturday.
The Brazilian winger was punished by the Spanish Football Federation’s (RFEF) Disciplinary Committee for pulling an opponent’s hair and protesting against the referee.
Vinicius started the encounter at the Santiago Bernabeu on the bench before entering the game in the second half. The 26-year-old appeared to have made an immediate impact after finding the back of the net. However, his goal was disallowed before he received a straight red card for pulling Villarreal defender Nathan Saliba’s hair.
The Brazilian’s reaction to the dismissal further complicated matters. He protested angrily against the referee and had to be restrained by some of his teammates before leaving the pitch.
The RFEF Disciplinary Committee has now confirmed a four-match ban for the Real Madrid attacker. The referee’s report, which stated that Vinicius pulled his opponent’s hair while the ball was not directly in play, contributed to the disciplinary decision.
Two matches were imposed under Article 130.2 of the RFEF disciplinary code, which addresses violent conduct during or outside a game. The remaining two matches resulted from a violation of Article 127, which concerns protests against referees. The committee reportedly applied the minimum available punishment for the offences.
Vinicius will be unavailable for Real Madrid’s upcoming La Liga meeting with Sevilla this weekend. He will also miss the highly anticipated El Clasico against Barcelona on October 25.
The Brazilian is further expected to sit out matches against Racing Santander and Valencia. His return is scheduled for the league encounter against Celta Vigo, expected to take place between November 20 and 23.
Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to appeal the decision in an attempt to reduce the suspension. However, the club could face difficulties overturning the punishment, leaving Vinicius at risk of missing four important fixtures.
