The Black Queens booked their place with an emphatic 7-0 victory over Mauritius at the Essipong Stadium on Tuesday, October 13, completing a convincing 10-0 aggregate win across the two legs.

Evelyn Badu, Portia Boakye and Ajegipina Zakaria found the net in the first half as Ghana established control of the return encounter before going on to record another commanding performance.

The result keeps Ghana’s hopes of securing their first-ever appearance in the women’s football competition at the Olympic Games firmly alive as they continue their campaign in the continental qualifiers.

Zambia also advanced to the third round after defeating Uganda 4-1 in the second leg to seal a 5-3 aggregate victory, setting up a meeting with the Black Queens.

The two nations will battle for a place in the fourth round, with the third-round matches scheduled to take place between February 23 and March 6, 2027.

Only the teams that emerge victorious on aggregate in the eight third-round ties will progress to the fourth round, which is scheduled for October 4–12, 2027, as the race for Africa’s representatives at the 2028 Olympic Games intensifies.
