Bank of Ghana Releases Official Daily Exchange Rates for Wednesday, October 14th, 2026

The Bank of Ghana has released its official daily exchange rates for Wednesday, 14 October 2026. The rates show how the Ghana cedi is trading against three major currencies: the US dollar, the British pound sterling, and the euro.

According to the central bank, the figures are the average interbank rates used by commercial banks. They reflect transactions at the close of business on Tuesday, 13 October 2026.

The US dollar is buying at ₵11.7000 and selling at ₵11.7118. This means a commercial bank pays about eleven cedis and seventy pesewas to buy one dollar. It sells the same dollar for slightly more.

The British pound sterling is buying at ₵15.4991 and selling at ₵15.5157. The pound remains the strongest of the three currencies against the cedi. It is worth about fifteen and a half cedis.

The euro is buying at ₵13.0959 and selling at ₵13.1089. It ranks between the dollar and the pound in value.

For each currency, the selling rate is higher than the buying rate. This difference is known as the spread, and it is normal in currency trading. The spread is small for all three currencies, which suggests a stable and orderly market.

These rates are important to many Ghanaians. Importers use them to estimate the cost of foreign goods. Exporters use them to calculate their earnings. Students abroad, travellers, and families who receive money from relatives overseas also depend on them. Businesses with foreign loans or contracts follow the rates closely as well.

The Bank of Ghana publishes the figures every working day to promote transparency and keep the public informed. However, the rates offered by individual banks and forex bureaus may differ slightly from the interbank rates. Customers should confirm the exact rate with their service provider before they trade.

The central bank encourages the public to visit its official website, www.bog.gov.h, for more information. It can also be reached on Facebook as “Bank of Ghana” and on X and LinkedIn at @thebankofghana.
