Apostle Suleman Recounts How He Missed Business Class Meal After Being Upgraded on Plane

Apostle Johnson Suleman, the founder and senior pastor of Omega Fire Ministries International, has recounted how he missed out on a meal in business class after being upgraded from his original seat on an international flight, using the experience to explain why people must learn how to take advantage of available opportunities.

Suleman shared the experience during a recent sermon published on YouTube, recalling that the incident happened about 20 years ago when he started travelling abroad.

According to the cleric, a member of the flight crew recognised him as a pastor and directed him to a business-class seat.

“One day, many years ago, when I started travelling abroad, I entered the plane. They directed me to where my seat was, and I sat. Somebody saw me, one of the crew, and said, ‘You pastor, right?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ This was about 20 years ago,” he said.

Suleman explained that after he confirmed his identity, the crew member changed his seat and moved him to business class.

However, he said he failed to take advantage of the privileges available to him because he did not understand that he was entitled to the services offered to other passengers in that section.

He recalled watching other passengers select their preferred drinks and enjoy their meals, including one man who requested a second serving, while he remained seated without asking for anything.

According to him, he initially assumed that the meals were reserved for passengers who had paid for business-class tickets.

Suleman said he eventually asked another passenger why he was eating more than once, only to be told that everyone seated in business class was entitled to eat.

Realising his mistake, he called a flight attendant to request food, but was informed that the available meal had finished, leaving only vegetables.

The preacher said the experience taught him that the problem was not the absence of food but his failure to understand and exercise the privilege available to him.

He connected the experience to the Bible, saying God had provided believers with things necessary for life and godliness, but they needed to understand how to access them.

“The problem was not that there was no food. Why did I not take it?” Suleman asked, urging Christians to understand the principles required to benefit from available opportunities.
