Alleged Suicide Note of Former MTN Staff Bright Gyan Koomson Surfaces After His Sudden Death

An alleged suicide note attributed to Bright Gyan Koomson, a former MTN employee and member of Wesley Methodist Cathedral, has circulated online following reports of his sudden death.

According to multiple social media posts, the note, reportedly dated September 30, 2026, described personal struggles Koomson had allegedly endured for about three years before his death.

The document reportedly detailed his battles with depression, addiction, emotional distress, guilt and financial difficulties, which he allegedly kept largely hidden from those around him.

In the note, Koomson reportedly described how an earlier attempt to open up about his emotional struggles was not taken seriously.

He suggested that people who knew him had failed to recognise the extent of the difficulties he was experiencing.

He also reflected on the contrast between the cheerful personality people knew and the private challenges he was allegedly facing, expressing regret over the pain his death could cause his loved ones.

The note reportedly highlighted the seriousness of addiction and the importance of offering support to people experiencing difficulties.

“…This happy person you all knew was silently fighting addiction. Sorry I disappointed you all; I really tried, but I couldn’t hold it any longer. You don’t have to cry; I chose this journey in order to aid people to be each other’s keeper. You all should forgive me; personally, I can’t forgive. Addiction is stronger than you think.

“The first time I tried sharing my pain, it was seen as a joke. The aftermath judgment? Well, I don’t know. Maybe after a year or two, the name Bright Gyan Koomson won’t be remembered anymore,” he said.

Koomson also indicated that thoughts of suicide had begun in 2023, explaining that he had gradually put the contents of the document together over time, despite its stated date of September 30, 2026.

The alleged note further addressed the emotional consequences of his struggles, including concerns about how society might judge him for his personal difficulties.

He reportedly expressed fears about public condemnation and the possibility of being remembered negatively.

In another section, he appealed to his father, identified as Mr Koomson, to make time to listen carefully to his children and pay attention to their concerns.

He suggested that young people could be experiencing serious difficulties without openly discussing them.

The document also encouraged people to make a conscious effort to understand the challenges faced by young people they encounter.
