All Coronation Street spoilers for next week as Fiz takes on abuser Ross

A number of revelations… (Picture: ITV/Metro) A verdict is delivered, a relationship ruptures and a dark influence is challenged next week on Coronation Street.

The day Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) has been waiting for finally arrives, when the jury returns with their verdict as her murder trial reaches a climax – but what will they have decided?

Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) continues to struggle with wife Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) dementia symptoms, and as their relationship suffers due to their lack of communication, an old enemy rears her head. Can Ronnie and Debbie work through their problems?

Ross Wilkes’ (Ian Burfield) toxic influence on his son, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) intensifies, and as he continues to drive a wedge between Ty and his wife, Fiz (Jennie McAlpine), she confronts her father in law, but how will Ross respond?

Elsewhere, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) comes to a huge decision that son Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) fears he’ll regret, a war between Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), and Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) finally receives her test results.

After her barrister delivers a closing speech, Sarah prepares herself to face her fate when the jury reaches a verdict.

Ronnie turns down Debbie’s offer of a romantic night in to head out with Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges), where he confesses that, while he still fancies Debbie, he’s concerned about the effect her dementia will have on their sex life.

Meanwhile, Sam tries to change Nick’s mind when he tells him that he’s selling the bistro back to Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), Daniel and Idris both have their eyes on the piece of school land and Ross forces Tyrone and Dorin (Henry Nye Meller) to practice boxing, but neither enjoy it.

While trying to seduce Ronnie, Debbie unknowingly calls him Darren, and while Ronnie doesn’t make a big deal of it, he cries off with an excuse, leading Debbie to confide in Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) and Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger).

Ross is unimpressed to learn that Ruby and Hope Dobbs (Billie Naylor and Isabella Flanagan) want to take up boxing, and when Tyrone tells Hope that boxing isn’t for girls, she points out his sexism, leading him to change his mind.

Elsewhere, as Daniel tells Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) and Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) his plans for the land, Alya is cringing, later admitting to Adam that Idris is trying to buy it and she’s agreed to represent him.

As Debbie gives Denise, a bride-to-be, a tour of the hotel while confirming her wedding is booked for July, she’s crestfallen when Denise corrects her: she requested June, leading Carl to suggest that Ryan take over bookings. Later, as Carl and Ronnie talk, Paula (Kellie Hollis), Debbie’s former prison-mate watches on.

When Tyrone gets a text from Fiz requesting that he pick up some popcorn for their family film night, Ross convinces him to ignore it, takes his phone, and supplies him with another pint, eventually sending him home drunk, much to Fiz’s chagrin.

Also, Bernie receives a letter from the hospital with her results, confirming she carries the BRCA gene, leaving Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) concerned as she flees upstairs.

After the chaos of the tour, Denise tells Ryan that she doesn’t want Debbie to have anything to do with her wedding, while Debbie is confronted and threatened by Paula, and when Ryan and Denise come across them arguing, Denise demands her deposit back.

Later, Denise’s fiancé arrives and Ronnie arrives to find Debbie flirting with him mercilessly after explaining that her own husband no longer fancies her.

Concurrently, after learning that Ross took Tyrone’s phone, she confronts him and accuses him of purposely sabotaging family film night.
