50 Cent is explaining why he's wary of marriage.

The rapper and actor, 51, shared his views on marriage during his Oct. 9 appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle. During his conversation with Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones, he reflected on performing at NBA player Tyrese Haliburton's Aug. 1 wedding for free as a surprise to guests. This prompted Hager, 44, and Jones, 48, to ask him if he has any plans for performances at his own wedding, if he ever gets married.

50 Cent (né Curtis James Jackson III), who is single and has never been married, frowned at the idea of tying the knot, explaining, "The most successful people that I know, when you ask them when they took their biggest losses, it's in one column in Forbes. It says, 'Married and Divorced.' "

He reiterated that he's "not looking forward" to marriage. However, he said he understands why some people take the plunge.

"Look, it only makes sense when it's honored in God's eyes," the "In Da Club" rapper said. "If the person is religious and has that, you know, as a driving source to maybe end up doing it."

The hosts brought the conversation back to wedding performers. Despite no plans to get married, if he ever does, 50 Cent said he already knows who he would ask to take the stage at his wedding.

"Jay-Z's gonna do my [wedding], Jay-Z's gonna perform," he said.

He added, "Kanye [West] too. I'll have him, Kanye — if he's not banned. If he's not banned at the time, he'll be there."

Although 50 Cent doesn't see marriage in his future, he is looking for romance. "I like to have fun," he said with a smile.

The relationships 50 Cent values most, though, are friendships.

"I think friendship is the strongest form of a relationship, right? When you become friends with someone and then it becomes a necessity for you," he said. "I think we give away the title 'friend' too easy to some people because if they don't have your best interests at heart then they're not necessarily your friend. It could be someone you know, an acquaintance, but you're not necessarily friends"

He believes that the high divorce rate is because couples "forget to be friends."
