2026/27 MTN FA Cup preliminary round fixtures announced

The draw for the preliminary round of the 2026/27 MTN FA Cup has been announced following the ceremony held on Tuesday.

The preliminary round will feature Division One and Division Two League clubs, while the 18 Ghana Premier League clubs have been exempted and will enter the competition at the Round of 64.

Victory Club Warriors FC vs Eleven Wonders FC (Group 1)

The tie promises an exciting Bono derby between two former Ghana Premier League sides. Victory Club Warriors have invested heavily in their team this season, while Eleven Wonders are eager to return to the top flight. Both sides will be determined to progress.

Real Tamale United vs Yapei United (Group 2)

The Northern derby will see former Premier League side Real Tamale United take on Yapei United. RTU have a large fan base in Tamale, and both teams will be looking to claim bragging rights in the North.

Another exciting tie in the North will see Tamale City face Wa Power SC. Both teams were among the strong Division One sides last season. Tamale City narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League, while Wa Power SC impressed with their performances.

Okwawu United FC vs Kotoku Royals FC (Group 9)

The Eastern Region derby will feature two clubs with Premier League experience. Okwawu United, known for their large following, will host Kotoku Royals in a tie between two sides with a history in the top flight.

King Faisal FC vs Pro Sports Academy (Group 5)

King Faisal, one of the well-known clubs in Ghanaian football, will begin their campaign against Pro Sports Academy. King Faisal will be hoping to progress, but they will face a team eager to make an impact.

Ebony FC face a tough test against Nations FC as both teams aim to secure a place in the next round.

Great Olympics FC vs MSK Zilina FC (Group 8)

Great Olympics will return to the FA Cup after their relegation from the Premier League last season. They will face MSK Zilina, an academy side known for developing young players. The tie will bring together experience and youth.

Accra Lions FC vs John Paintsil FC (Group 8)

Former Premier League side Accra Lions will take on John Paintsil FC. Accra Lions, known for their work in youth development, will be hoping to make a strong start to their cup campaign.

The Western Region derby will see Sefwi All Stars host Skyy FC. Skyy FC played in the Premier League two seasons ago, while Sefwi All Stars will hope to use their home advantage to progress.

Golden Kick SC vs Attram De Visser (Group 8)

Golden Kick SC will face Attram De Visser in another interesting tie. Golden Kick reached last season’s MTN FA Cup final, while Attram De Visser are also known for their strength in academy football. Both teams will be aiming to continue their cup journey.
