Van Vicker Sues Lilwin For GH¢10M – Says He Is Afraid To Enter Kumasi

Ghallywood and Kumawood clash has entered the courtroom.

Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has filed a defamation suit against fellow actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, at the High Court in Accra, seeking GHS10 million in damages.

The suit stems from a viral social media video in which Lil Win allegedly accused Van Vicker of dishonesty and unprofessional conduct and threatened to bar him from working in the Kumawood film industry.

According to court documents, Van Vicker says he has been living in fear and has cancelled all his planned business trips to Kumasi because of the alleged threats.

In a writ of summons and statement of claim dated October 10, 2026, Van Vicker accuses Lil Win of publishing statements that allegedly damaged his reputation and portrayed him as dishonest, unprofessional and unfit to work in the Kumawood movie industry.

The lawsuit follows a video published on TikTok and  Facebook on August 13, 2026, under the headline: “ LIL WIN BANS VAN VICKER FROM ACTING IN KUMASI!”

The actor claims the video portrayed him as dishonest and unreliable and suggested he had been banned from acting in Kumawood.

The fight is said to have started before the filming of ‘A Journey to Africa’ at Nzulezu, where Lilwin allegedly threatened to prevent Van Vicker from appearing in Kumawood movies.

He is asking the court to declare the statements defamatory, award GHS10 million in exemplary damages and order Lil Win to issue a public retraction and apology on news platforms. He is seeking damages, a public retraction and an apology for four consecutive weeks, plus an order to stop Lilwin from making similar statements and to pay his legal costs.

Among other reliefs, Van Vicker seeks exemplary damages of GHC10,000,000, a retraction, and an apology on news portals with the same prominence as the publications for four consecutive weeks.

This is not Lilwin’s first defamation case. In February 2024, actress Martha Ankomah also sued him.

For now, the court will decide – is it just Kumawood banter, or did Lilwin cross the line and damage Van Vicker’s name?

And can one actor really ban another actor from a whole movie industry?
