“TS Galaxy player Lentswe Motaung reportedly hijacked Saturday early hours in Phola Park (Thokoza) and sustained injuries during the incident,” Vehicle Trackers reported on social media.

“He is currently receiving medical treatment in hospital, while the hijacked vehicle remains missing. The vehicle had not yet been registered and was still operating with a permit at the time of the hijacking.

Motaung, who started Galaxy’s previous match, a 1-0 loss to Chippa United, is expected to miss tonight’s showdown against Orlando Pirates in the Betway Premiership at the Orlando Amstel Arena at 19:30.

Motaung, who won the Man of the Match award against Sekhukhune United on 5 September, has started all seven of Galaxy’s matches this season.

Operating as a right-back, he was integrated into the senior team in 2024 under former coach Adnan Beganovic. He continued to enjoy regular game time under current coach Bernard Parker.

At just 20, he made 27 appearances last season. They included 22 in the Betway Premiership, as well as appearances in the MTN8, Carling Knockout and Nedbank Cup.

Meanwhile, TS Galaxy are yet to break their silence on the incident as they prepare to face Orlando Pirates this evening.
