Trump jokes about ‘examining’ GOP senator’s body upon learning he was star football player: ‘I looked at his ass’

President Trump cheekily revealed Monday that he took a look-see at Sen. Jon Husted’s backside after learning the Ohio Republican was a star football player in college.

The president explained at a rally in Ohio that he was stunned to learn about Husted’s “athletic prowess” at the University of Dayton but realized it had to be true after he took a closer look at the mild-mannered senator’s body.

“I don’t do this with men very often. I started examining his body because I didn’t know he was a great athlete,” Trump told rally-goers in Youngstown. “And I looked and I watched up and down.

“I looked at his ass, and I looked at the whole –”

The quip drew laughter from the crowd.

Trump continued, “And then I looked at his hands. Look at his hands. He’s got these, like, claws. And I got it …  you are a great athlete.”

“I didn’t know that because he doesn’t talk about that,” the president added. He also suggested Husted’s poll numbers have improved now that Buckeye State voters know he was an All-American defensive back with the 1989 Division III champion Dayton Flyers.

“I just hit him in the back and I hurt my hand a little bit,” Trump later joked after bringing Husted up on stage to speak. “He’s like a piece of steel.”

Husted is locked in a tight race with former Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), whom the president referred to as “the candidate of the Marxist, the communists and the anti-American radicals who want to tear down America’s heritage.”

“He was here with the worst border we’ve ever had. The economy was terrible and everything else. He was here during a very dark period for our country,” Trump said of Brown.

The president further warned that Ohio would be “destroyed like Minnesota” with Democrats in charge.

“If you want to stop Ohio from being plundered, ransacked and destroyed like Minnesota is being destroyed …  if you want to stop it before it begins, vote for Jon Husted and vote for [GOP gubernatorial candidate] Vivek Ramaswamy,” Trump declared.

“Democrats want to burn it all down,” the president argued, urging voters to not let Brown “slither his way back into power.”

Super Bowl-winning NFL coach Jon Gruden and boxer and influencer Jake Paul traveled aboard Air Force One with Trump for the trip from Washington to Youngstown.

Gruden, a native of Sandusky, Ohio, and a college teammate of Husted’s, introduced Trump at the rally.

“To maximize our true potential, we gotta believe in our leadership and we gotta do it together,” the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Las Vegas Raiders head coach said. “And if we can get this group elected, great days are ahead.”

Paul, who was raised in Cleveland, warned that Democrats are running “evil” candidates “willing to do anything to destroy us.”

“We have to protect this state,” the YouTuber-turned-boxer said.

Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) and embattled Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) were also in attendance.

Miller, whose ex-wife – Moreno’s daughter – has accused him of physically abusing her and their young daughter, received a shout-out from the president but was not asked to come up on stage.
