Rajasthan Police Arrest Two Punjab Youths After Recovery of Explosives, Weapons Near Sri Ganganagar Border

Security agencies have recovered suspected explosives, weapons and ammunition from the Rawla Mandi area of Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district near the Pakistan border. Two youths from Punjab have been arrested, and a search operation is underway.

According to preliminary information, three packets were allegedly dropped by a drone from across the border into a field near a canal around 10 p.m. on Monday. The packets were initially suspected to contain narcotics.

Teams from the Border Security Force (BSF), Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and Rawla Police reportedly recovered RDX, two pistols, four magazines, around 650 cartridges, four pairs of batteries and two remote-control devices. The exact nature and quantity of the seized material are yet to be officially confirmed.

The arrested youths are reportedly from Jalandhar and the Firozpur area of Punjab. Their alleged links to the consignment and their roles in the case are being investigated.

ANTF Inspector General Vikas Kumar confirmed the arrests, saying agencies were working to identify those who sent the consignment and establish its intended purpose.

Security agencies have tightened surveillance in the border region. Searches are underway in nearby fields and along canal banks to check for additional suspicious packets. A specialised team has reportedly been called from Jaipur to examine the seized material.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
